NextEra Energy is seeking a hands-on Software Developer to join our Digital & AI engineering team in Jupiter, FL. You will design, develop, and maintain cloud-native applications within a regulated nuclear-energy context, ensuring secure, scalable software across full-stack components.

The role emphasizes AWS cloud expertise, modern frameworks, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Strong problem-solving and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• 2+ years deploying apps on cloud platforms, preferably AWS; GCP value considered.
• Experience working in Agile software development teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable cloud-native applications using modern frameworks.
• Build secure, reliable backend services with Node.js, NestJS, Python and TypeScript.
• Develop responsive front-end apps using Angular.
• Design and maintain PostgreSQL databases with performance optimization.
• Deploy applications on AWS using serverless and container-based architectures.
• Create CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code for automated deployments.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver quality software.
• Contribute to technical design decisions and architecture discussions.
• Troubleshoot production issues with root-cause analysis and long-term fixes.
• Maintain technical documentation and runbooks in Confluence.
