Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in the United States to own design, implementation, and operation of secure microservices and APIs at scale. You will leverage Java/Spring Boot on GCP, implement CI/CD pipelines, and mentor engineers in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities include building cloud-native services, integrating multi-surface APIs for Ford and Lincoln platforms, and ensuring reliability with automated testing and IaC practices. Hybrid work model available.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive software-engineering experience building, deploying, and supporting scalable cloud-based applications.
• Experience developing backend services, microservices, and APIs in an Agile/Kanban environment.
• Experience collaborating with product managers, UX designers, architects, and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Experience supporting critical, high-availability applications in an always-on production environment.
• Strong communication, technical leadership, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational reliability of secure, high-throughput microservices and APIs.
• Develop robust, cloud-native services using Java / Spring Boot on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Design, build, and optimize RESTful APIs connecting mobile apps, dealership systems, and displays.
• Apply TDD, maintain high test coverage, and uphold Clean Code standards with tools like SonarQube.
• Build and manage automated deployment pipelines and IaC using Terraform, GitHub, and Tekton.
