Qualifications

• 5-7 years of software engineering experience with ~2 years of senior-level responsibilities such as taking ownership of designs or projects and coordinating across teams
• Operational knowledge of one or more server-side JVM languages (Java, Kotlin, Scala) and related ecosystems
• Experience in designing and operating microservices, RESTful APIs, and data persistence patterns
• Strong testing mindset, test-driven development, and reliability practices
• Proficiency with leveraging AI tools in daily development tasks (code generation, debugging, documentation)
• Ability to quickly learn an existing codebase and lead technical discussions across teams
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure) and container tech (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Hands-on experience with relational databases (Postgres, AlloyDB) and data modeling
• Understanding distributed system design patterns and trade-offs in microservices architectures

Responsibilities

• Producing architectural proposals and driving platform evolution discussions
• Collaborating with product teams to design solutions based on feasibility analyses
• Mentoring junior engineers through code reviews and design discussions
• Delivering end-to-end features: design, code, testing, deployment, and support
• Contributing to reliability practices and post-mortem analyses for incidents
• Leading development methodologies and identifying improvement opportunities in codebase and tooling
• Coordinating with QA and Platform teams to ensure unblocked testing environments
• Providing technical guidance on integration approaches and system constraints
