Job description

The Senior Cloud Engineer designs, implements, and deploys cloud platforms to support and meet business needs. This role ensures reliable operation of cloud production environments, identifies opportunities for performance improvements, and provides advanced technical support across multi-cloud platforms. The position requires strong expertise in cloud infrastructure, automation, monitoring, and system integration, along with the ability to mentor junior staff and support complex enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and deploy cloud platforms to support business requirements
  • Identify, recommend, and implement performance improvements and stability solutions
  • Provide advanced-level technical support to ensure reliable cloud production operations
  • Troubleshoot software systems across multiple cloud platforms and integrate systems into existing environments
  • Maintain advanced technical knowledge of software and infrastructure platforms
  • Develop and maintain technical standards and best practices
  • Test and evaluate IT vendor products and solutions
  • Review and optimize configuration parameters to maximize system performance and uptime
  • Promote code through development, test, and cloud production environments on schedule
  • Submit change control requests and maintain required documentation
  • Learn and understand client business functions and technical requirements
  • Recommend appropriate technical tools to meet business needs
  • Train and mentor junior staff on processes, releases, and operational standards
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues escalated from team members
  • Provide technical guidance and consultation as required
  • Write, update, and maintain departmental documentation
  • Administer system activities and write technical components of assigned deliverables
  • Perform systems analysis including requirements definition and logical design
  • Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of five years of related cloud engineering or infrastructure experience
  • 7+ years of experience working as a Cloud Engineer with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure
  • 3+ years of experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Experience supporting multi-cloud environments (Azure, GCP, and future AWS adoption)
  • Strong operational knowledge of Azure core services including ARM/Bicep, Azure Functions, Blob Storage, Virtual Networks, AKS, VM Scale Sets, Azure AD, and Key Vault
  • 6+ years of experience working with Terraform
  • Experience with alerting and monitoring platforms such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Splunk, or Grafana
  • Experience building self-service automation platforms using tools such as ServiceNow, Python, Azure Automation, or Logic Apps
  • General scripting experience using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or Azure CLI
  • Knowledge of CI/CD platforms, primarily GitHub Actions, with Azure DevOps experience acceptable
  • Strong IT troubleshooting skills for break/fix and production support scenarios
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience
