Job summary

Fort Meade, MD hosts a Linux Administrator position requiring TS/SCI with polygraph. The role focuses on designing and deploying Linux-based infrastructure, automating tasks with Bash, Python, Puppet, and Ansible, and supporting a hybrid cloud environment.

You will provision, configure, harden, patch, and monitor enterprise Linux instances, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and mentor junior staff while driving operational improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline plus at least 10 years of Systems Administration experience on programs/contracts of similar scope and complexity, OR 15 years of relevant experience without a degree.
• DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II baseline certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA Security, or equivalent).
• Strong hands-on Linux administration including install, hardening, patch management, performance monitoring, and diagnostics.
• Proficiency in automation with Bash, Python, Puppet, and/or Ansible.

Responsibilities

• Provision, configure, patch, monitor, and troubleshoot Linux server instances across multiple networks and hybrid cloud architectures.
• Build and maintain infrastructure automation scripts and configuration management routines.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to isolate root causes and resolve complex system issues.
• Support systems architecture design and continuous operational improvements.
• Communicate system status, risks, and performance metrics to stakeholders.
• Mentor junior staff in administration practices.

Education

Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
