Job summary

Peraton is seeking an experienced Cloud Systems Administrator to join the Cyber Intelligence Division in Laurel, MD. This role focuses on cloud infrastructure, Linux system administration, and distributed computing at scale across multi-cluster environments that support national security missions.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Linux, scripting, and modern cloud tools, plus a TS/SCI clearance. Join a mission-driven team delivering critical intelligence solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of Systems Administration experience with a strong focus on Linux environments.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
• 8570 IAT Level I or higher (Security+ preferred) – must be obtained before starting.
• AWS Certified SysOps Administrator — Associate or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain large-scale distributed systems (60+ nodes per site) across multiple racks.
• Configure and maintain LDAP-based user authentication systems.
• Script and automate operational workflows using Bash, Python, or Perl.
• Implement and optimize data storage solutions (e.g., Hadoop, Cassandra, Scality, Swift).
• Apply DoD security standards to maintain secure, compliant environments.
