Job summary

Metis Technology Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Senior Linux and Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to support the NASA Ames ARTS contract. The role focuses on building, securing, and operating AWS cloud infrastructure, with Linux system administration across Oracle Linux 8 and Ubuntu.

You will design VPC architectures, manage IAM and security, and implement IaC using Terraform or CloudFormation. Hybrid cloud/on-premise integration and compliance with NASA/NIST controls are part of the responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of systems, cloud, or related engineering experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on AWS infrastructure experience in production environments.
• Experience with AWS networking: VPCs, subnets, routing, security groups, Route 53.
• Experience administering EC2 environments: deployment, patching, backup/recovery, automation.
• Strong IAM knowledge and least-privilege design.
• Experience with AWS Systems Manager for fleet administration and automation.
• IaC experience with Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
• Linux expertise; Oracle Linux 8 and Ubuntu preferred.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, TLS/HTTPS, and hybrid cloud integration.
• Bash, Python, Ansible skills.
• Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Designs, administers, secures, and troubleshoots production AWS infrastructure across accounts.
• Configures VPCs, subnets, routing, security groups, VPNs, and hybrid networking.
• Implements IAM roles, policies, and least-privilege controls.
• Automates cloud and Linux administration using Bash, Python, Ansible.
• Develops IaC with Terraform and/or CloudFormation for repeatable deployments.
• Supports multi-account AWS environments with centralized governance.
• Maintains Linux systems (Oracle Linux 8, Ubuntu).
