Friday Harbor in the US seeks a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to own production infrastructure, shaping cloud-native deployments for AI workloads. You’ll collaborate with the Lead AI Platform & Infrastructure Engineer to define architecture, run migrations, and ensure safe rollout with clear rollback plans.

Qualifications

• Five+ years in infrastructure, platform, SRE, or related role.
• Experience designing new infra and migrating workloads to production.
• Able to balance control with managed services and explain tradeoffs.
• Strong problem solving and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Evolve production infrastructure; define architecture and migrations.
• Build foundations for AI workloads; scheduling, isolation, and resource use.
• Make production observable and reliable; build insightful metrics and logs.
• Improve engineering velocity; infrastructure as code and deployment workflows.
• Own on-call and recovery procedures; drive incident learning.
• Incorporate security into day-to-day engineering; access controls and data protection.
• Bridge infra and platform; translate needs into dependable capabilities.
