Job summary

Huntington Bank is seeking an IS Technical Specialist to lead Java/API development and cloud-native initiatives on the Payments platform. The role emphasizes GCP expertise, API design, and production support in an agile setting for high-volume payments and card-related services.

The ideal candidate will have strong Java/Spring Boot experience, API management familiarity (Apigee/API Gateway), and hands-on cloud DevOps in GCP, with collaboration across product, IT, and business teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience developing cloud-native applications on GCP and in enterprise payments environments.
• Strong Java (Spring/Spring Boot) and API development experience.
• Experience with secure RESTful APIs and OAuth2/OIDC authentication approaches.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain back-end services in Java/Spring Boot with performance tuning and resiliency patterns.
• Design and deliver RESTful APIs with contract-first approaches and documentation.
• Work with GCP services, IaC tooling, and DevSecOps pipelines to ensure production readiness.
• Coordinate with offshore/onsite teams to deliver artifacts on time and with quality.
