Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Sr Information Systems Security Officer - Cloud in Huntsville, AL to support Federal Strategic Cyber programs. You will guide RMF-based system categorization, advise on security controls, and oversee lifecycle deliverables while maintaining compliance and risk management documentation.

Candidates should have 9+ years in CS/cybersecurity with 7+ as an ISSO, hold TS/SCI clearance, and possess cloud security certifications (CISSP or equivalent plus AWS CCSP/Azure/GCP).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, business management, or IT related field.
• 9+ years in CS or cybersecurity with 7+ as ISSO at a cleared facility.
• At least one of CISSP, GISP, or CASP+/SecurityX with cloud certs (AWS Security Specialty, CCSP, AWS SA, AZ-500, or Google Cloud Security).
• Must meet DoD 8140.03 advanced proficiency for ISSM with listed certifications/education.
• Active TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain a polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Guide system categorization based on mission impact and compliance.
• Advise on security controls aligned with risk appetite and compliance.
• Oversee controls across system/app lifecycles focusing on deliverables.
• Ensure security control assessments are planned, executed, and documented.
• Prepare risk management docs for system authorization and exec decisions.
• Direct monitoring/continuous assessment; collect metrics for security strategy.
• Serve as principal technical advisor on cyber risk analysis, incident response, and audits.
• Foster security awareness; provide guidance and training to team and stakeholders.
• Report status, risks, and improvement opportunities to leadership.
• Maintain RMF/NIST knowledge for continuous process improvement.
