Job summary

Oracle seeks a Senior Software Engineer for its Nashville, TN campus to design, develop, and operate distributed services at massive scale. You will own feature design, drive tactical execution, and mentor peers in a high-availability cloud environment.

You should have strong Java/J2EE skills, experience with RESTful services, and a background in end-to-end systems. Relocation to Nashville is required, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building and operating end-to-end systems and services.
• Experience driving security, documentation, and UX reviews; partnering with Product Managers throughout the launch lifecycle.
• Experience developing service-oriented architectures (SOA) and RESTful web services.
• Strong expertise in Java, J2EE, and object-oriented programming principles.
• Experience with JWT, OAuth2, Okta, and other authentication and authorization frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of Core Java, including concurrency concepts, concurrency patterns, and thread-safe code.
• Strong Oracle PL/SQL development experience, including complex stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, and bulk-processing routines for high-volume transactional systems.
• Proven production database support experience, including SQL performance troubleshooting, locking/deadlocks, connectivity and connection-pool issues, scheduled jobs, and collaboration with DBAs on availability, access, and recovery.
• Experience with at least one scripting language for automation, proof-of-concept development, or command-line tools.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement robust, scalable services with a focus on reliability and performance.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive best practices in code quality and operations.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure compliant, secure, and scalable solutions.
