Job summary

The City of New York’s Department of Information Technology Services is seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer to serve as a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer. You will design cloud landing zones, build scalable networks, and automate provisioning with Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, or Bicep.

You’ll collaborate with security teams to enforce controls, review designs for governance, and monitor cloud health to ensure reliable DSS workloads in a secure, compliant environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field plus four years of full‑time datacenter, cloud, or infra engineering experience.
• Or eight years of relevant experience in the same domains.
• Equivalency accepted if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Design AWS and Azure landing zones and secure cloud architectures.
• Develop IaC using Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, or Bicep.
• Configure and optimize hybrid networking (VPNs, ExpressRoute, Direct Connect, DNS).
• Collaborate with security teams to ensure controls and compliance.
• Review designs for security, resiliency, and governance alignment.
• Monitor cloud health and performance using native and enterprise tools.
