Job summary

Oracle is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (IC3) for its Cloud Infrastructure team, focusing on the Database and Host Automation domain. You will design and build automation services and secure host execution capabilities, linking fleet-wide orchestration with database and OS operations to improve availability, consistency, and safety.

Qualifications

• 5+ years delivering and operating large scale distributed systems and/or cloud services.
• Strong knowledge of Java with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, etc.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, distributed systems and cloud fundamentals.
• Working familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures.
• Strong understanding of databases, NoSQL systems, storage, and distributed persistence technologies especially in cloud.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop components of distributed systems to support horizontal and vertical scaling.
• Collaborate to build fault-tolerant components with redundancy, replication, and automatic failover.
• Build tests, dashboards, telemetry, and alerting to monitor health and reliability.
• Design and implement functional requirements and testing for features in the system.
• Develop automation scripts and tooling for operational issues and incident responses.
• Partner across teams to ensure security, compliance, and change management.
