Job summary

Oracle US is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and operate automation and tooling that support OCI deployments across regions. You will independently deliver components, integrate with cloud services, and collaborate with engineering and operations to simplify provisioning, updates, and maintenance.

This role emphasizes reliability and security with a strong focus on infrastructure as code, APIs, and CI/CD.

Qualifications

• Experience developing, testing, and maintaining software in Python or Java.
• Practical experience with infrastructure as code and state management.
• Experience provisioning infrastructure in a cloud environment with IAM, networking, and storage knowledge.
• Experience API integration and handling failures in automation.
• Experience with source control, automated testing, and CI/CD workflows.
• Ability to troubleshoot across Linux, networking, storage, cloud APIs, and app code.
• Ability to deliver defined components independently and handle ambiguity.
• Clear communication with engineering and operations teams to support adoption.
• Ability to write maintainable code and evaluate choices for reliability and security.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and maintain software, APIs, and automation for provisioning, configuring, and managing cloud infrastructure.
• Develop reusable infrastructure-as-code components and workflows for consistent changes across environments.
• Integrate with cloud APIs and internal services, handling authentication, retries, and partial failures.
• Build validation and delivery pipelines to support controlled infrastructure changes and recovery.
• Add monitoring, logging, and diagnostics to infra tooling for reliability and supportability.
• Investigate automation failures and implement improvements to prevent recurrence.
• Translate engineering requirements into designs and tooling; communicate tradeoffs, progress, and risks.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain runbooks and examples for other teams.
