Join to apply for the Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer role at Aquia.

Aquia is hiring a senior-level Cloud Infrastructure Architect to support a Department of Defense (DoD) Software Factory. The successful candidate will serve as a Kubernetes Subject Matter Expert (SME) on a team responsible for securing and maintaining a hardened container repository, designed to automate, secure, and accelerate the approval process of commercial and open-source containers for the DoD. This role combines hands-on engineering, architecture, and leadership skills.

Candidates must be U.S. Citizens eligible for a DoD SECRET clearance.

What You'll Do:

1. Builds, maintains, and configures elastic, cost-effective, resilient, and secure containerized workloads using Infrastructure-as-Code principles in Development, Test, and Live environments.
2. Designs containerized solutions for relational/non-relational databases, data auditing, caching, and performance.
3. Manages different Kubernetes providers (Amazon EKS / Fargate, Azure AKS, Google GKE).
4. Works with other Architects on Security, Data protection, and Failover/Failback strategies.
5. Implements Continuous Integration, Delivery, and Deployment using various CI/CD tools and container registries.
6. Leverages and develops IaC/CaC to be fully cloud and on-premise agnostic, utilizing technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, Helm, and Kubernetes Operators.

What we're looking for:

1. 5+ years of Cloud Infrastructure experience, including AWS, GCP, or other providers.
2. Expert-level knowledge of Kubernetes and containerization.
3. Expert-level knowledge of DoD Enterprise DevSecOps Reference Design.
4. Experience developing tools and automation with Python, Golang, or similar scripting languages.
5. Expert-level knowledge of Cloud Security architectures, tools, and best practices.
6. Proficiency in secure software development, release planning, testing, and QA (DevSecOps).
7. Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and CDK, and scripting languages.
8. Familiarity with security and privacy standards such as GDPR, CCPA, CSA STAR, ISO 27000, NIST, etc.
9. Strong learning ability, self-drive, adaptability, and passion for security.
10. Ability to lead discussions with engineers and senior executives.

Location: Remote - USA

Salary: $125,000 - $160,000 USD
