Job summary

Salesforce Public Cloud engineering teams build and maintain a large-scale distributed systems platform that powers tens of millions of users daily. You will design and optimize core back-end services, ensure high availability, and contribute to automation and IaC with Terraform.

Qualifications

• A related technical degree is required.
• 4+ years of backend software development experience.
• Proficiency in Java, Golang, Python, or Ruby.
• Experience owning and operating multiple instances of a critical service.
• Experience with Agile development and Test Driven Development.
• Experience with monitoring, alerting, logging, and reporting applications.

Responsibilities

• Deliver cloud infrastructure automation tools and frameworks on public cloud platforms.
• Design, develop, debug, and operate resilient distributed systems across data centers.
• Contribute to open source technologies (Spinnaker, Zookeeper, etc.).
• Develop Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform.
• Write microservices on Kubernetes, Docker, Mesos.
• Resolve complex technical issues to improve availability and performance.
• Balance live-site management with feature delivery and debt retirement.
• Participate in on-call rotations to keep services highly available.
