Job summary

Salesforce seeks a Senior/Lead Distributed Systems Software Engineer for GovCloud to design and optimize large-scale back-end platforms. You will craft highly available services, drive AI-enabled development, and lead efforts to deliver automation and resilient infrastructure across cloud environments.

The role emphasizes a deep understanding of concurrency, data management, and production-ready code, with on-call responsibilities and a strong focus on security and reliability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years backend software development experience.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Golang, Python or Ruby.
• Experience owning and operating multiple instances of a critical service.
• Familiarity with Agile development and Test Driven Development.
• Knowledge of monitoring, alerting, logging and reporting tools.
• Experience with distributed databases and Postgres is a plus.
• A genuine AI-first approach to engineering and using AI tools in workflows.

Responsibilities

• Deliver cloud infrastructure automation tools and validation platforms on public clouds.
• Design, develop, debug, and operate resilient distributed systems across data centers.
• Build production-grade software with modern engineering practices and AI integrations.
• Develop Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform.
• Write microservices on Kubernetes, Docker, etc.
• Contribute to system context and standards for reliable AI operations.
• Participate in on-call rotations to keep services available.
