Job summary

Coinbase seeks a Senior Software Engineer for the Core Infra Systems team within Platform. You’ll work across AWS, GCP, and Networking to ensure scalable, secure infrastructure for production use. You’ll partner with Compute, Infra Security, and Routing to deliver reliable defaults and guardrails.

You will drive standardization across multi-cloud environments, mentor teams, and lead technical investigations to prevent systemic issues while scaling foundational systems for Coinbase’s growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering with 3+ years building/operating production cloud infra.
• Hands-on with VPCs, transit gateways, DNS, load balancers, and IaC tooling.
• Proficiency in Go or Python for platform tooling and automation at scale.
• Ability to drive cross-team technical initiatives across infrastructure domains.
• Uses generative AI responsibly with human oversight to improve workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own cross-cutting infra initiatives across AWS, GCP, and Networking pillars.
• Build and maintain self-service tooling and paved-road defaults for safe provisioning.
• Embed guardrails into provisioning to meet security and reliability standards.
• Drive standardization across multi-cloud networking, compute, and platform primitives.
• Lead investigations and improvements across infra boundaries.
