Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Core Infra Systems team to design and operate production cloud infrastructure across AWS and GCP, emphasizing standardization, self-service, and guardrails. You’ll partner with Compute, Infra Security, and Networking to keep Coinbase fast and reliable.

You will lead cross‑team technical initiatives, build self‑service tooling, and embed security into provisioning.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years building and operating production cloud infrastructure on AWS and/or GCP.
• Hands-on experience with cloud networking primitives (VPCs, transit gateways, DNS, load balancers).
• Proficiency in Go or Python for platform tooling.
• Experience driving cross-team technical initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Own cross-cutting infrastructure initiatives across AWS, GCP, and Networking.
• Build and maintain self-service tooling and paved-road defaults.
• Embed guardrails into provisioning to meet security and reliability standards.
• Drive standardization across multi-cloud environments to reduce fragmentation.
• Lead investigations and improvements across infrastructure boundaries.
