Job summary

Collective in San Francisco seeks a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to own the platform's IaC, security, and observability. You will partner with product engineering to scale infrastructure, design disaster recovery, and lead the CI/CD systems.

The role requires 5+ years in cloud infra, strong Python, and multi-cloud experience (AWS preferred, GCP a plus). You will mentor teams, improve reliability, and drive automation, while embracing AI-assisted DevOps workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Cloud Infra, DevOps, or SRE operating production cloud environments.
• Ability to work in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
• Proficiency in AWS; GCP is a plus.
• Experience implementing infrastructure and security policy as code.
• Strong Python or other high-level language skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for cross-team alignment.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading post-incident reviews.
• Automation-focused with tooling experience.

Responsibilities

• Provision, deploy, and manage cloud resources with Terraform on AWS and GCP.
• Enforce zero-trust and identity-based access controls.
• Build scalable, reliable, cost-effective systems that scale with the company.
• Develop and test disaster recovery plans.
• Own CI/CD systems; set standards and mentor teams.
• Reduce operational toil through automation and AI tooling.
• Collaborate with product teams to translate needs into infra.
• Own observability stack and respond to outages; participate in on-call.
