Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer for Wallet, Payments and Commerce to own complex cloud platform initiatives. You will drive cross-functional projects, architect scalable platform capabilities, and champion security-first patterns across production systems.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with security and SRE teams, and help shape the evolution of our cloud-native tooling and DevOps practices in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of cloud infrastructure and platform engineering experience, with end-to-end ownership in production.
• Experience building platforms and treating internal developers as customers.
• Kubernetes and Containers; multi-tenant, multi-cluster, multi-region ownership.
• Infrastructure as Code with Crossplane and Terraform at scale.
• Security-first architecture with Policy as Code (Kyverno/OPA).
• Public cloud expertise across AWS, GCP, and/or Azure.
• GitOps and CI/CD with Flux, Jenkins, Kargo; declarative promotion and rollback.
• Strong networking fundamentals including NATs, TCP/IP, DNS, load balancers, mTLS.
• Linux internals and systems-level troubleshooting; distributed systems experience.
• Experience with Istio/Traefik/Linkerd and observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and align solutions with business goals in cross-functional settings.

• Lead security-first patterns and policy-as-code controls.

• Collaborate with adjacent teams to keep a cohesive technical strategy.
• Advocate modern cloud and DevOps practices across the organization.
