Job summary

Apple is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer for Wallet, Payments and Commerce in New York City. You will own end-to-end platform capabilities, set technical direction, and treat internal developers as customers while driving secure, scalable cloud solutions across multi-tenant environments.

You will mentor engineers, lead platform and security initiatives, and collaborate with security and SRE teams to ensure cohesive strategy and successful adoption of new DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Cloud infrastructure and platform engineering experience.
• Experience building platforms and treating internal developers as customers.
• Kubernetes and multi-cluster architectures with end-to-end ownership.
• Infrastructure as Code with Crossplane and Terraform.
• Security-first architecture with Policy as Code (Kyverno, OPA).
• Public cloud expertise across AWS, GCP, or Azure; strong CI/CD knowledge.
• GitOps pipelines and declarative deployments; observability stack usage.
• Strong networking, Linux internals, and microservices experience.
• Mentor engineers and align solutions with business goals in cross-functional settings.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and delivery of platform capabilities end-to-end stretching from requirements to production.
• Set technical direction on multi-quarter initiatives across engineering, security, and SRE partners.
• Evolve platform-as-a-product offerings, serving internal developers as customers.
• Lead security-first patterns and policy-as-code controls for the platform.
• Solve complex problems using open source and in-house tooling while ensuring long-term health.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through reviews and design partnerships.
• Scale technologies to meet growth and shepherd adoption from experiment to production.
• Represent the team in cross-organization initiatives to keep strategy cohesive.
• Advocate next-generation cloud and DevOps practices across WPC.
