Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) seeks a Principal/Sr. Principal Engineer to maintain and enhance cloud infrastructure at the National Space Intelligence Center, Wright Patterson AFB.

You will collaborate with leadership, apply Agile methods, and ensure secure, scalable infrastructure across AWS/Azure/Google Cloud with IaC, Docker, and Kubernetes. Active TS/SCI clearance is required; 5+ years (or 8+ for Sr.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or master’s with 3+ years
• Active TS/SCI clearance
• IAT Level II certification per DoD 8570.01 within 60 days
• Expertise with infrastructure components, including network, storage, Linux/Windows, and IT security concepts
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• IaC, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices
• Experience with networking and Bash/PowerShell scripting
• Experience with Agile methodologies and Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)

Responsibilities

• Maintain, implement and enhance NGDS cloud infrastructure at Wright Patterson AFB
• Work with senior leadership to provide technical support and status updates
• Follow Agile SDLC and full life cycle development
• Interface with multiple stakeholders and communicate project statuses and blockers
• Apply cloud security concepts and IaC practices
• Script in Bash/PowerShell and manage cloud deployments
• Leverage Docker, Kubernetes and related tooling for microservices
