Job summary

ExtraHop is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Cloud, to own the design, delivery, and operation of scalable cloud services. You will drive architectural decisions, ensure reliability and security, and lead cross-team initiatives across engineering, security, and product teams.

You will mentor engineers, influence patterns, and evolve our cloud platform to meet the demands of a rapidly growing business while advancing DevOps maturity and secure design principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in CS/engineering.
• 6–8+ years of software engineering with cloud and distributed systems focus.
• Proven ability to design, build, and operate production-grade systems at scale.
• Strong programming in Go, Python, or similar languages.
• Deep expertise with Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Helm).
• Experience with AWS services and operating in production.
• Ownership mindset with on-call, incident response, and reliability improvements.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture, development, and operation of scalable cloud services.
• Lead design decisions for distributed systems and platform evolution.
• Drive end-to-end initiatives from design to deployment and optimization.
• Build scalable cloud infra using Terraform, Helm, and Kubernetes.
• Advance cloud security, IAM controls, and encryption practices.
• Improve observability with monitoring and incident response.
• Enhance CI/CD pipelines for reliable delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve system-level challenges.
• Mentor engineers and raise engineering quality.
