Job summary

Astrion seeks a Senior Cloud Engineer at Eglin AFB, FL to design, implement, and support our cloud infrastructure. You will work with test squads, developers, and leadership to ensure reliability, security, and scalability of cloud services and apps.

Strong cloud, scripting, IaC, and CI/CD experience are required. Responsibilities include building automated cloud environments, monitoring performance, and cost management while maintaining security and compliance throughout the stack.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Active Secret clearance and U.S. Citizenship required.
• Strong understanding of IaaS, PaaS, SaaS.
• Experience with AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• IaC tools Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM.
• Containers with Docker/Kubernetes.
• CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps.
• Networking basics (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls).
• Security best practices and compliance experience.
• Monitoring/logging with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK.
• DBs: SQL/NoSQL.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy scalable, secure cloud infrastructure solutions.
• Select cloud services based on requirements and cost.
• Develop and maintain IaC with Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM.
• Configure VMs, containers, networking, storage, and databases in the cloud.
• Implement cloud security controls and IAM.
• Monitor performance and optimize resources.
• Troubleshoot cloud issues and perform maintenance, patches, backups.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines for cloud apps and automate deployments.
• Oversee container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Document designs and procedures; train staff on cloud technologies.
• Stay updated on cloud trends and improve efficiency, security, and reliability.
