Job summary

Smile Digital Health is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to design, build, and maintain cloud-hosted services for our SaaS platform. You will own deployment artifacts (HELM, Docker, IaC) and partner with platform, security, and infra teams to ensure scalable, secure cloud deployments.

You’ll contribute to CI/CD pipelines, serverless components (AWS CDK, Lambda, API Gateway), and multi-cloud tooling across AWS and Azure. Strong scripting and containerization expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional cloud development or infrastructure engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent work experience).
• Experience designing and building SaaS applications and multi-cloud solutions.
• Familiarity with Git-based CI tools (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
• Experience with public cloud SDKs/APIs (AWS/Azure/GCP) and AWS CDK preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain cloud-native RESTful APIs using Python, Go, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Build and manage Docker container images with security and deployment best practices.
• Author, maintain, and version HELM charts for Kubernetes/OpenShift deployments.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment, testing, monitoring, and roll-back of SaaS services.
• Monitor performance, reliability, and scaling; implement caching and autoscaling solutions.
• Develop serverless SaaS components using AWS CDK, Lambda, API Gateway, and ECS/Fargate.
• Ensure high availability with Kubernetes readiness/liveness probes and proper resource limits.
• Collaborate with security, operations, and infra teams to meet compliance and logging requirements.
• Troubleshoot issues in production and staging, provide root-cause analysis.
• Maintain architecture documentation and deployment procedures.
