Job summary

SAIC is hiring a Principal Cloud Engineer to manage cloud environments for a government customer. You will drive cloud solution selection, migrations, and capacity planning using AWS and/or Azure, with a strong emphasis on DevOps and FinOps tooling.

Responsibilities include IaC development with CloudFormation, Kion configurations, and cross‑functional leadership in Agile scrums. You must be a US citizen and eligible for a public trust.

Qualifications

• 12+ years IT experience with 8+ years hands-on cloud deployment experience.
• Hands-on in AWS or Azure with DevOps focus and cost management tooling.
• Experience with Kion, IAM, and infrastructure as code (CloudFormation).
• Proven track record in cloud cost optimization and resource governance.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain a public trust.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical, managerial and administrative direction for cloud projects.
• Deploy and configure workloads in AWS/Azure and manage Kion integration.
• Configure network, cloud services, and security controls for development teams.
• Lead cross-functional DevOps/Cloud collaborations and daily scrums.
• Identify opportunities to optimize cloud consumption and drive cost governance.
