Job summary

Fauna Robotics, an Amazon company, is hiring a Senior Software Development Engineer to build cloud services that connect robots to customer experiences and internal operations. You will build the cloud foundation and applications that scale as the fleet grows.

The ideal candidate has built distributed systems that connect physical devices to cloud services end to end and will own services from prototype through production with on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Experience working in a cloud based development and production environment such as AWS.
• Experience owning a service end to end: design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Build and own the cloud services that connect a growing fleet of robots to customer experiences and internal operations.
• Build operational telemetry ingestion pipelines that process high-frequency robot signals.
• Select technologies where the stack is undefined, document the decisions, and set patterns for a growing team.
• Join the on-call rotation for the services you own and drive incident response.
• Work with science, engineering, and product teams to define requirements and operationalize new workflows.
