Job summary

Platinum Technologies seeks a Cloud Engineer at Fort Meade, MD with an active Secret clearance. You will design, implement, and secure cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure, while driving automation, IaC, and CI/CD pipelines in alignment with DoD/Federal frameworks.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience, or Master's with 10+ years; advanced degrees may substitute for experience.
Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP, or equivalent).
Active Secret Clearance required.
Industry cloud certs such as AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator Associate, or equivalent.
Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and supporting enterprise cloud solutions in AWS and/or Azure.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, ARM/Bicep, or CloudFormation.
Experience implementing automation using Ansible, PowerShell, Azure Functions, or similar.
IAM/ICAM technologies including Azure AD, Okta, CyberArk, or similar.
Strong networking, virtualization, storage, and cloud security principles.
Familiarity with Federal cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, FedRAMP, FISMA).
Experience supporting production enterprise environments in operations/maintenance.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills for distributed teams.
Familiarity with Jira and Confluence.
Experience supporting large-scale migrations or hybrid cloud environments.
Knowledge of Kubernetes or OpenShift.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain secure cloud infra across AWS and Azure.
Deploy and manage IaC solutions with automation/orchestration tools.
Support cloud modernization, including migration of on-prem services to cloud.
Troubleshoot Tier 3 cloud infra, networking, IAM, and app issues.
Collaborate with engineering, cybersecurity, operations, and architecture teams.
Contribute to cloud architecture for scalable, resilient environments.
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows.
Enforce cloud security best practices & DoD/Federal frameworks alignment.
Monitor cloud environments for performance, availability, cost optimizations.
Develop technical docs, SOPs, and engineering standards.
Support continuous service improvement across DES environment.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
