Job summary

Accenture Federal Services in Reston, VA is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to architect, design, and implement scalable cloud solutions for government clients. The role requires 10+ years IT experience, 5+ years AWS cloud engineering, GovCloud experience, and strong IaC skills with Terraform, CloudFormation or Ansible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of IT, systems or infrastructure experience, including 5+ years of hands-on AWS cloud engineering experience.
• Experience designing, building, supporting and troubleshooting AWS cloud infrastructure in classified government environments.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, EBS, S3, IAM, VPC, Lambda or CloudFormation.
• Experience supporting AWS GovCloud and/or other classified AWS environments.
• Strong infrastructure-as-code experience using Terraform, CloudFormation or Ansible.
• Experience implementing cloud security controls, including IAM, SSO, federation, security baselines and account-auditing policies.
• Experience securing and hardening Linux or Windows cloud systems in accordance with applicable security and RMF requirements.
• Scripting and automation experience using Python, PowerShell, Bash or a similar language.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable cloud-based architecture.
• Mentor and guide a team of cloud engineers and review their work.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and optimize cloud infrastructure.
• Translate technical requirements into actionable solutions and stay current on cloud technologies and compliance standards.
• Provide requirement decomposition/definition and engineering expertise to ensure program requirements are developed and sustained.
• Prepare operating instructions and end user training.
• Develop and implement cloud governance strategies ensuring compliance with standards.
• Lead efforts to automate deployment, monitoring, and management processes.
• Act as a subject matter expert on cloud engineering best practices and contribute to the technical community.
• Participate in risk management assessments and architecture.
