Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Senior Cloud Developer to design and build mission-critical cloud platforms in California, onsite with opportunities to advance architecture and collaboration across teams.

You will work with Kubernetes, microservices, REST APIs, and AI-assisted development workflows, mentoring peers and contributing to AI-SDLC initiatives. Strong coding in Python, Java, and Go is required, with cloud experience on AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related quantitative field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, and Go; Rust is a plus.
• Strong grounding in microservices architecture and containerized services on Kubernetes.
• Experience building, deploying, and operating scalable, stateless REST APIs and web services on Kubernetes and/or public cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Solid understanding of the Kubernetes ecosystem, including autoscaling, and observability.
• Experience contributing at every stage of the software development lifecycle.
• Experience designing and integrating polyglot systems across multiple platforms.
• Strong testing discipline: test planning, automation, debugging, and tooling.
• Deep proficiency with Git and code-review practices.
• Proven mentoring experience and cross-team delivery.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including presenting architecture proposals to senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of complex, large-scale platforms and cloud subsystems.
• Review designs, test plans, and code for quality and risk reduction.
• Analyze complex application and data problems to deliver maintainable solutions.
• Apply AI-assisted workflows across the SDLC and continuously improve them.
• Represent the team in technical forums and mentor engineers.
• Evaluate and introduce new technologies to raise engineering effectiveness.
