Job summary

Strategic Business Systems, Inc. (SBS) seeks a Senior Cloud/DevOps Engineer to support a cutting‑edge IC framework. The role requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph, with hands‑on work across cloud and on‑prem environments.

You will drive automation, security practices, and scalable infrastructure, collaborating with cross‑functional teams in an agile setting to enable real‑time, mission‑critical decisions.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining Linux-based infrastructure.
• AWS-based high-availability, fault-tolerant systems (EC2, VPC, ELB).
• Kubernetes containerization and production clustering expertise.
• CI/CD implementation experience.
• Database management (Postgres, Mongo).
• Automation via configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet).
• Scripting in Bash or Python; strong troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of Agile processes; active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on engineering, operations, and maintenance of scalable IT infrastructure.
• Administer Linux servers in hybrid on-premise and cloud environments; AWS experience desirable.
• Support DevOps processes to aid software teams in dev, test, and production.
• Work independently and in a team within an agile setting.
• Coordinate with ISSOs to ensure standards in system architecture.
• Assist external customers with IT and software troubleshooting.
• Automate processes wherever possible.

Senior Cloud/DevOps Engineer (TS/SCI with Polygraph)

Strategic Business Systems, Inc. (SBS) is hiring a motivated Sr DevOps/Linux Systems Engineer to support a cutting-edge modeling and analytics framework in support of the U.S. Intelligence Community (IC). On this program you will have the opportunity to work with technical leaders in cloud computing and data analytics to re-architect, modernize, and operationalize a critical tool leveraged across the IC to make real-time, mission-critical decisions. Candidates must have an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and CI Polygraph.

Candidates must be self-motivated who can understand technical concepts and collaborate on technical direction on a small team in an agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on engineering, operations, and maintenance of scalable IT infrastructure
• Administration of Linux servers in a hybrid on-premise and cloud environment; experience with AWS is highly desired
• Working with DevOps processes and toolsets to support software teams in dev, test, and production environments
• Working both independently with little supervision as well as in a team environment.
• Coordinating with Information System Security Officers to ensure all standards and best practices are implemented in system architecture
• Assisting external customers with development and troubleshooting of IT and software systems
• Encouraging and building automated processes wherever possible
• Identifying and deploying cybersecurity measures by continuously performing vulnerability assessment and risk management
• Monitoring and measuring customer experience and KPIs

Qualifications

• Experience working on Linux based infrastructure
• Linux system administrator experience with AWS building and managing highly-available, fault-tolerant systems (i.e. EC2, VPC, ELB, IAM, Autoscaling)
• Expertise with Kubernetes containerization and clustering in production
• Experience implementing CI/CD
• Configuration and managing databases such as Postgres, Mongo
• Experience with server configuration management or infrastructure automation tools (i.e. Ansible, Puppet)
• Scripting experience (i.e. Bash/shell, Python)
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of Agile development processes
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
• CompTIA Security+, or IAT II certification
