Job summary

Strategic Business Systems, Inc. (SBS) is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to support a cutting-edge modeling and analytics framework for the IC, focusing on re-architecting, modernizing, and operationalizing critical tooling across cloud and on-prem environments.

The role requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph, strong Linux systems expertise, Kubernetes in production, and hands-on experience with AWS, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation.

Qualifications

• Experience with Kubernetes in production.
• Linux system administration experience with AWS building and managing highly-available systems.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines.
• Configuration and managing databases such as Postgres, Mongo.
• Experience with server configuration management or infrastructure automation tools (Ansible, Puppet).
• Scripting experience (Bash, Python).
• Strong troubleshooting abilities.
• Knowledge of Agile development processes.
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• CompTIA Security+ or IAT II certification.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on engineering, operations, and maintenance of scalable IT infrastructure.
• Administration of Linux servers in a hybrid on-premise and cloud environment; experience with AWS is highly desired.
• Work with DevOps processes and toolsets to support software teams in dev, test, and production environments.
• Work independently and in a team within an agile environment.
• Coordinate with Security Officers to ensure standards are implemented.
• Assist external customers with development and troubleshooting of IT and software systems.
• Encourage and build automated processes wherever possible.
• Identify and deploy cybersecurity measures through vulnerability assessment and risk management.
• Monitor and measure customer experience and KPIs.

Strategic Business Systems, Inc. (SBS) is hiring a motivated Sr DevOps/Linux Systems Engineer to support a cutting-edge modeling and analytics framework in support of the U.S. Intelligence Community (IC). On this program you will have the opportunity to work with technical leaders in cloud computing and data analytics to re-architect, modernize, and operationalize a critical tool leveraged across the IC to make real-time, mission-critical decisions.

Candidates must have anactive Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and CI Polygraph.

Candidates must be self-motivated who can understand technical concepts and collaborate on technical direction on a small team in an agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on engineering, operations, and maintenance of scalable IT infrastructure
• Administration of Linux servers in a hybrid on-premise and cloud environment; experience with AWS is highly desired
• Working with DevOps processes and toolsets to support software teams in dev, test, and production environments
• Working both independently with little supervision as well as in a team environment.
• Coordinating with Information System Security Officers to ensure all standards and best practices are implemented in system architecture
• Assisting external customers with development and troubleshooting of IT and software systems
• Encouraging and building automated processes wherever possible
• Identifying and deploying cybersecurity measures by continuously performing vulnerability assessment and risk management
• Monitoring and measuring customer experience and KPIs

Qualifications

• Expertise with Kubernetes containerization and clustering in productionExperience working on Linux based infrastructure
• Linux system administrator experience with AWS building and managing highly-available, fault-tolerant systems (i.e. EC2, VPC, ELB, IAM, Autoscaling)
• Experience implementing CI/CD
• Configuration and managing databases such as Postgres, Mongo
• Experience with server configuration management or infrastructure automation tools (i.e. Ansible, Puppet)
• Scripting experience (i.e. Bash/shell, Python)
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of Agile development processes
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
• CompTIA Security+, or IAT II certification
