VISUAL SOFT, INC is seeking a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer to design, automate, deploy, and maintain mission-critical cloud infrastructure in a classified AWS environment. This onsite role in Washington, DC requires deep expertise in AWS, Terraform, Linux, and DevSecOps practices within Agile/Scrum teams.

The candidate will implement scalable architectures, CI/CD pipelines, and security controls to support national security programs, mentoring junior engineers and ensuring compliance with DoD/IC

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer to support the design, automation, deployment, and maintenance of mission-critical cloud infrastructure in a classified AWS environment. This is a fully onsite role in Winchester, VA, supporting national security and defense programs that demand strict adherence to security and compliance standards.

The ideal candidate has deep technical expertise in AWS cloud services, Terraform infrastructure as code, Linux system administration, and Agile/Scrum practices, with a proven track record in building scalable, secure, and automated DevSecOps pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, automate, and maintain cloud-native infrastructure using AWS services and Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC).
• Experience withInfra as Code (terraform), containers (Docker or Kubernetes), versioning, API, CI/CD
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or AWS CodePipeline.
• Administer and optimize Linux-based systems, ensuring high availability, security, and compliance.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash, Python, or PowerShell for provisioning and monitoring.
• Configure and manage networking, VPCs, IAM roles, security groups, and encryption policies in AWS environments.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate DevSecOps practices, improving release cycles and reliability.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar tools.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives) to support rapid delivery cycles.
• Support accreditation and compliance activities under DoD/IC security frameworks (NIST, RMF, FedRAMP).
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of DevOps workflows.

Standard benefits

Our standard benefits include 3 weeks of Paid time off (PTO that includes sick leave). Any unused PTO will be issued as a check at the end of an employee's anniversary with us. we also provide 2 floating and 8 public holidays. Floating and holidays expire at the end of every year of service of an employee. In addition, company will cover 50% of health and dental insurances only for all full time employees, however, dependents can be added at extra cost. Employee's health and dental coverage becomes effective after 30 days or first of the month after an employee completes initial 30 working days, we cover 50% for the employee's health and dental insurances. An employee has to finish all of your paper work for health and dental in the first 30 days of your employment with us. We provide STD, LTD and one time salary equivalent of life insurance at NO cost to all full time employees. All full time employees or w-2 employees with no benefits will be eligible to participate in company's 401k program after 90 days of employment with a company match of 4%, immediate vesting. In addition, all w-2 employees are eligible to be part of company's profit sharing, no employee contributions required.
