Job summary

PayPal is hiring a Cloud/DevOps Engineer in Austin, TX to ensure the seamless operation of user-facing services and production systems. You will manage PayPal infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, security, compliance, and release engineering, with a strong emphasis on automation and reliability.

As a Senior Engineer, you will mentor others, work with a data-driven product team, and contribute to scalable cloud solutions using AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes in a balanced hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• 5+ years of software development or a related field.
• 3+ years operating distributed applications 24x7x365.
• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Hands-on programming and scripting (Python, Java, Bash, Go).
• Containers & orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Act as a hands-on contributor and mentor to engineers.
• Lead design and coordinate stakeholders to deliver solutions.
• Drive scalable cloud infrastructure and maintain reliability.
• Troubleshoot incidents, root-cause analysis, and preventive actions.
• Promote best practices in development and production operations.
