Job summary

VSG Enterprises, LLC is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to lead the DevOps-focused design, implementation, and evolution of cloud-native infrastructure for our hockey analytics platform. You will drive AWS-based architecture, IaC, and secure CI/CD pipelines while supporting software, data platforms, and analytics applications.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with data teams, and champion security and reliability across our cloud services. The role is onsite with some remote flexibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS/SE or related field.
• 5+ years in software engineering, cloud infrastructure or DevOps.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Python for design, development and debugging.
• Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
• Cloud platforms especially AWS including networking, compute, storage and security.
• Experience with IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation).
• DevSecOps practices including CI/CD automation and secrets management.
• Building and supporting data pipelines, analytics platforms and real-time processing.
• Developing and maintaining REST APIs.
• Containerization/orchestration with Docker, Kubernetes, Airflow, Dagster; Linux.
• Experience in database architecture, modeling, indexing and query optimization.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure and services for the hockey analytics platform.
• Architect and implement IaC using Terraform or CloudFormation for reproducible environments.
• Champion DevSecOps practices across CI/CD pipelines and security.
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.
• Develop internal tooling and dashboards supporting data analysis and observability.
• Monitor cloud systems, data pipelines, and troubleshoot production incidents.
• Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to design scalable solutions.
• Lead architectural discussions, code reviews, and infrastructure reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns in cloud engineering and best practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
