Job summary

HiringThing is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our Engineering team. You will design and maintain AWS-hosted infrastructure to support a scalable SaaS platform and build CI/CD pipelines for fast, secure software delivery.

This fully remote role collaborates across departments and influences infrastructure strategy. You will work closely with the CTO and VP of Product, shaping deployment procedures, security, and observability while supporting on-call rotations and incident response in a

Qualifications

• 4 years of cloud experience with AWS preferred.
• 2 years of infrastructure automation with tools like Terraform.
• Familiarity with Ansible for configuration management.
• Familiarity with Ruby on Rails framework.
• Experience hosting SaaS applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a small team.
• Ability to self-direct DevOps strategy.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain AWS-hosted, cloud-based infrastructure to support a reliable and scalable SaaS environment.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, secure, and consistent software delivery (CI, staging, and production).
• Monitor and implement metrics for system performance, availability, and security.
• Support incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident follow-up activities.
• Plan and exercise our BCDR scenarios.
• Formulate and present DevOps strategy.
• Identify opportunities to improve observability, scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency.
• Manage and participate in our on-call rotation.
