Job summary

Nelnet Business Services (NBS) seeks a Senior DevOps & Cloud Engineer to lead cloud deployments and IT infrastructure across the unit. You will handle configuration, support, administration, and technical solutions for cloud-based environments while collaborating with stakeholders.

The role requires extensive cloud expertise, strong scripting skills, and proven experience with automation, security, and compliant operations. A bachelor's in CS or related field is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field; equivalent experience may be substituted.
• 8+ years of experience in cloud/IT infrastructure and DevOps environments.
• AWS or Azure certifications (Cloud Architect, DevOps Architect or similar).
• Proficient in AWS or Azure services and cloud concepts.
• Containerization experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Windows and Linux server administration and scripting.
• Networking fundamentals including DNS, routing, and firewalls.
• CI/CD design, implementation, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Develops, modifies, and maintains IT cloud infrastructure to meet business objectives.
• Implements and provides oversight on technical solutions for various sized projects or daily support initiatives.
• Creates and maintains technical documentation for IT systems and solutions.
• Works with customers, stakeholders, and system owners to gather requirements and design options.
• Provides training and technical support for users with varying IT knowledge.
• Completes and evaluates enhancements to routine preventative measures.
• Ensures logging and participates in log analysis for vulnerability reviews, penetration assessments, and monitoring.
• Assists in regulatory attestations to maintain system and network compliance.
