Zusammenfassung

Foley seeks a Senior Database Administrator to own reliability, security, and performance of our cloud data platforms. You will support AWS data warehouse environments, primarily remote in EST hours, with occasional office visits for collaboration, training, or events.

The role emphasizes securing data, optimizing AWS-based architecture, and partnering with Engineering, Product, Infrastructure, and Analytics to scale data solutions while leveraging AI-enabled tooling to improve operations.

Qualifikationen

• 7+ years of experience managing production database environments.
• Deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, including performance tuning, indexing, and HA/DR
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS data warehouse technologies, including Amazon Redshift
• Proven experience managing database security, access controls, and permissions in regulated or security-conscious environments
• Demonstrated AI fluency and curiosity, with experience using automation or AI-enabled tools to improve reliability, monitoring, or efficiency
• Experience with additional AWS services (RDS, EC2, S3, IAM, monitoring/logging tools)
• Exposure to data engineering pipelines or analytics platforms

Aufgaben

• Own database reliability, performance, and availability
• Lead administration, monitoring, tuning, and optimization of Microsoft SQL Server and Amazon Redshift environments
• Design and maintain high availability, backup, and disaster recovery strategies that meet business SLAs
• Lead data warehouse operations in AWS
• Own and optimize our AWS-based data warehouse architecture, ensuring performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
• Partner with Data and Analytics teams to support reporting, analytics, and downstream AI use cases
• Manage database security and access controls
• Own database security across platforms, including user access, roles, permissions, encryption, and auditing
• Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to data access, integrity, and availability
• Work closely with Product, Engineering, Infrastructure, and Analytics teams to align database solutions with product and business needs
• Communicate database risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including leadership
• Improve reliability through automation, scripting, and proactive monitoring
• Leverage modern tooling and AI-assisted capabilities to reduce manual work and improve operational signal
