Job summary

Foley is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to own the reliability, security, and performance of our cloud-based data platforms. You will support our AWS data warehouse environment and collaborate with Engineering, Product, Infrastructure, and Analytics teams to scale data systems securely as the business grows.

The role is primarily remote (US based) working EST hours, with occasional visits to offices for collaboration, training, or events.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in production database environments.
• Deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server including HA/DR and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with AWS data warehouse technologies (Amazon Redshift).
• Experience in regulated or security-conscious environments with access controls.
• Proven use of automation or AI-enabled tools to improve reliability or efficiency.
• Familiarity with RDS, EC2, S3, IAM and monitoring tools.

Responsibilities

• Own database reliability, performance, and availability.
• Lead admin, monitoring, tuning, and optimization of SQL Server and Redshift.
• Design HA, backup, and DR strategies meeting SLAs.
• Lead data warehouse operations in AWS.
• Collaborate with Data, Analytics, Product, and Engineering teams.
• Manage database security, access controls, and encryption.
• Proactively identify risks to data access and availability.
• Automate monitoring and improve operational signal using AI-assisted tooling.
• Communicate risks and recommendations to leadership.
