Job summary

Foley is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to own the reliability, security, and performance of cloud-based data platforms. You will support our AWS data warehouse, lead the MS SQL Server and Redshift environments, and collaborate with Engineering, Product, Infrastructure, and Analytics teams to ensure scalable and secure data systems.

The role emphasizes automation, AI-assisted tooling, and proactive monitoring, with a primarily remote work setup in the United States and EST hours.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of production database administration experience.
• Expertise in MS SQL Server tuning and HA/DR.
• Deep experience with AWS data warehouse technologies (Redshift).
• Strong security and access-control experience in regulated environments.
• Experience using automation and AI-assisted tooling to improve reliability.
• Ability to work EST hours and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Own database reliability, performance, and availability.
• Lead administration, monitoring, tuning, and optimization of MS SQL Server and Amazon Redshift environments.
• Design and maintain high availability, backup, and disaster recovery strategies meeting business SLAs.
• Lead data warehouse operations in AWS.
• Own and optimize AWS-based data warehouse architecture for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Partner with Data and Analytics teams to support reporting, analytics, and downstream AI use cases.
• Manage database security and access controls across platforms, including encryption and auditing.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to data access, integrity, and availability.
