Job summary

The Clearing House in Charlotte is seeking a Cloud Database Administrator Engineer to architect, deploy, and support enterprise Db2 LUW and SQL Server environments across on-premises and cloud. You will design secure, highly available, automated database solutions for mission-critical payment systems.

This senior role requires deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, IaC with Terraform, disaster recovery planning, and large-scale migrations.

Qualifications

10+ years of enterprise database administration and engineering.
Expert-level Db2 LUW 11.5+ on Linux.
Expert-level Microsoft SQL Server 2019+.
Experience with Db2 HADR, Pacemaker, and Q Replication.
Experience with SQL Server Always On and HA.
Cloud database platforms in AWS.
AWS services: RDS, EC2, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS.
IaC using Terraform.
Scripting: Python, PowerShell, Bash.
Leading large-scale database migrations.

Responsibilities

Architect, deploy, administer Db2 LUW and SQL Server environments.
Manage database lifecycle: installation, upgrades, patching, performance tuning, backup, recovery, security.
Design and maintain HA/DR and compliance standards.
Lead cloud migrations and modernization initiatives.
Mentor engineers and lead architecture reviews.
