Job summary

KBR is seeking a Senior Cloud Database Engineer to design, implement, and manage enterprise cloud data infrastructure with a primary focus on Oracle OCI. You will lead scalable database architectures across multi-cloud environments and drive digital transformation aligned with federal standards.

The ideal candidate brings deep data architecture expertise, cloud-native solutions, and the ability to support mission-focused objectives in enterprise environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or closely related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in cloud database architecture and management for large-scale enterprises; 8–10 years progressive experience.
• OCI Architect Certification and OCI Implementation Specialist Certification required.
• Proficient in database design, data modeling, SQL, and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage enterprise cloud-based data infrastructure to meet operational, analytical, and mission needs.
• Lead robust, scalable database designs optimized for cloud deployment, performance, and security.
• Ensure interoperability across distributed data sources, platforms, and applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data architecture with IT strategies and mission goals.
• Optimize database performance and scalability via query tuning, indexing, and lifecycle management.
• Implement and maintain data security controls, backup/recovery, and federal-compliance measures.
• Document database design decisions, configurations, integrations, and operational processes.
• Provide leadership on evolving the agency's data environment and cloud migration efforts.
