Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a Cloud Data Platform Engineer to design, implement, and evolve a scalable cloud data platform supporting data warehousing, analytics, and AI workloads. You will partner with architects and product teams to deliver self-service data services and automation that ensure governance, security, and cost efficiency.

The role emphasizes platform standardization, automation, and collaboration across enterprise teams to accelerate innovation and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in data or cloud engineering; master’s preferred.
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider (Azure, AWS).
• Proficiency with IaC and CI/CD tooling (Terraform, GitHub, YAML).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, operate, and improve cloud data platform services and infrastructure for analytics and AI workloads.
• Develop onboarding, provisioning, and operational processes for platform consumers.
• Create reusable platform services, templates, and automation patterns to boost productivity.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and IaC modules for standardized deployments.
