Job summary

GovCIO is hiring a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Cloud Data Pipeline (CDP) for the USCG, with full remote work across the United States. The role emphasizes implementing data ingestion, sharing, and compliance within USCG cloud environments, using Confluent Platform and Apache Kafka.

You will lead end-to-end lifecycle activities from implementation to sustainment, ensuring uptime and system readiness while aligning with USCG standards and RBAC requirements.

Qualifications

• Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification is required.
• Proficiency in Java, .NET, or Python.
• Strong Linux programming and system administration background.
• Experience with Confluent Platform and Apache Kafka for enterprise data streaming.
• Ability to complete the USCG Privileged User Management Program (PUMP) RBAC process.
• Expert-level understanding of configuration management and system architecture.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end deployment of the Cloud Data Pipeline (CDP) within USCG-designated cloud environments.
• Implement robust data ingestion and data sharing between source/recipient systems and the CDP.
• Ensure compliance with USCG software implementation, configuration, and security standards.
• Plan and execute maintenance tasks to maintain uptime of the CDP within USCG environments.
• Maintain data ingestion and sharing capabilities across the CDP ecosystem.
• Provide expert oversight for long-term sustainment and modernization of the CDP.
