Job summary

Goldman Sachs is seeking a Senior Cloud Data Engineer to drive hands‑on migration of legacy on‑prem workloads to AWS and containerize microservices for ECS. You will architect and implement end‑to‑end data pipelines using Spark, Glue, EMR, Snowflake and Iceberg, while ensuring scalable, secure data layers.

Lead Terraform/AWS CDK modules and CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions or GitLab CI. Collaborate with teams firm‑wide and mentor engineers to boost reliability and performance of data

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands‑on experience in Data Engineering and Cloud Infrastructure.
• Experience migrating production workloads to AWS ECS.
• Proficiency in Java, Python and SQL.
• Spark, Kafka, and orchestration tools like Airflow, Dagster or dbt.

Responsibilities

• Hands‑on migration of legacy ETL and microservices to AWS ECS.
• Develop end‑to‑end data pipelines with AWS Glue, EMR, Snowflake and Iceberg.
• Refactor monolithic code into containerized services and deploy to ECS.
• Lead IaC with Terraform or AWS CDK to provision VPCs, clusters and RDS.
• Lead code reviews, enforce reliability, performance and security standards.
• Improve observability with CloudWatch and OpenTelemetry.
