GovCIO is seeking a Senior Cloud Data Engineer to support the VA Data Modernization initiative. The role focuses on designing, provisioning, and automating cloud-based data workspaces, with expertise in Databricks and VHA Data Lake integrations.

The ideal candidate has strong cloud skills, experience migrating on-prem to cloud, and a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams while ensuring compliance and efficient workspace operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 12 years experience in IT or related field.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create cloud workspaces with commonly used tools for rapid onboarding.
• Lead migration efforts to cloud-based solutions.
• Develop and maintain documentation for network designs, policies, and procedures.
• Automate provisioning processes for user intake, workspace creation, and core data access.
• Lead teams of data platform engineers, security teams, and analytics stakeholders to ensure compliant operations.
• Map new users to workspace personas and configurations.
• Build and configure workspaces in PreProd or Prod with proper access controls and security configurations.
• Create and manage Databricks catalogs and integrations with the VHA Data Lake.
• Provide white-glove support to new and existing users to drive adoption.
