Job summary

SMART TECH SKILLS LLC partners with Mass DPH to hire a Senior Cloud Data Engineer to lead cloud data architecture and data pipeline development using AWS, Snowflake, Informatica IICS, and related cloud technologies.

This role will guide data integration, data mesh initiatives, and modernization efforts to support public health analytics and decision making across the Commonwealth, while ensuring HIPAA compliance, data governance, and scalable ETL/ELT workflows with Airflow, Python, and SQL.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing or Data Architecture.
• Experience building enterprise-scale data pipelines with AWS & Snowflake.
• Knowledge of Data Mesh and decentralized data architectures.
• Strong SQL and Python development skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain cloud-based data platforms and pipelines.
• Architect centralized and decentralized data solutions, incl. Data Mesh.
• Build scalable data ingestion, transformation, and integration using AWS, Snowflake, and Informatica IICS.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define data engineering solutions.
• Ensure data governance, HIPAA compliance, and security requirements.
• Lead ETL/ELT workflows and orchestration with Airflow.
• Guide data architecture documentation and best practices.
