Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Catalog team is hiring seasoned engineers to build and scale data‑intensive, distributed systems in the cloud. You will translate requirements into robust architectures, implement critical components, and participate in rigorous design reviews to ensure reliability and performance.

You will mentor teammates, shape our technical culture, and help grow a fast‑moving team while delivering high‑quality software for AWS customers.

Qualifications

5+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
Bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

Translating functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture and design.
Coding and testing complex system components.
Participating in code and design reviews to maintain our high development standards.
Working with other teams to deliver and operate large scale, distributed services in the cloud.
Overall system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance.
Mentoring other engineers, defining our challenging technical culture, and helping to build a fast‑growing team.
