Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking developers to build large-scale, data-intensive, distributed systems within the Catalog organization. You will translate requirements into architecture, code and test complex components, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to operate cloud-scale services.

Ideal candidates have extensive software development experience, strong design skills, and are comfortable mentoring others to help grow a fast-growing team in a leading cloud environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Responsibilities

• Translating functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture and design
• Coding and testing complex system components
• Participating in code and design reviews to maintain high development standards
• Working with other teams to deliver and operate large scale, distributed services in the cloud
• Overall system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance
• Mentoring other engineers, defining our challenging technical culture, and helping to build a fast-growing team
